Endowment Opportunities – Ken Grube Challenge

Investing in human futures. The Grube Challenge is an endowment program that honors Ken Grube’s commitment to disadvantage children and families in Eastern Connecticut. Ken Grube was a dedicated supporter of WCS. Ken served as Managing Editor and Editorial Page Editor of The Day in New London, one of America’s most noted independent, community based newspapers. Waterford Country School is grateful for his dream of building an endowment that will grow and live on in perpetuity.

A gift today, or a bequest tomorrow, accepting the Grube Challenge will help to change young lives forever at Waterford Country School.

Contributions to the endowment fund may be made right away, or can be deferred by using various methods designed especially for planned giving. Endowment funds usually come in one of the following forms:

  • Cash and property gifts – such as cash, stocks, personal property, real estate, or life insurance.
  • Income producing gifts – such as annuities, pooled income funds, charitable remainder trusts, or charitable lead trusts.
  • Bequests and revocable gifts – such as wills, bequests, IRA’s, retirement plans, or revocable gifts.

We can all leave our mark and leave a legacy. Making a lasting contribution to charitable organizations and causes isn’t just for the wealthy. Everyday, people from all walks of life make charitable gifts or provide bequests in their wills. In doing so, you can make a tremendous difference in the world today.
